APPSTEAD FOUNDER BIOGRAPHY
Last updated: August 21, 2026

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Jay is the indie iOS developer behind SlowBrewed Labs. He builds
privacy-first apps inspired by problems he has encountered personally, from
health tracking and on-device video captioning to tools for independent app
developers. He created Appstead after Apple removed portfolio-level
visibility from App Store Connect, making it harder to understand how
several apps were performing together.

EXTENDED BIOGRAPHY

Jay is an indie iOS developer and the founder of SlowBrewed Labs. He
designs, builds, and maintains several apps solo, with a focus on privacy,
useful software, and processing that stays on the user's device whenever
practical.

His products usually begin with a problem he has experienced directly.
These include a glucose-tracking app created following his diabetes
diagnosis, on-device video-captioning software, and a journaling app
focused on recording small personal wins.

Appstead grew from the operational problem of managing several apps
without a useful portfolio overview. After Apple removed that overview
from App Store Connect, Jay began building the tool he wanted himself: a
private iPhone and iPad companion that brings an independent developer's
app business into one clear workspace.

Jay continues to design, engineer, support, and market the SlowBrewed Labs
portfolio independently.
